Tanner Mertens

Tanner Mertens serves AxAdvocacy as a Legislative Specialist where helps maintain client relations and assist with navigating them through the legislative process on Capitol Hill.

He previously worked in the Office of Representative Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO), where he gained valuable experience managing a diverse portfolio of issues, including Telecommunications, Defense, Energy, and Agriculture, among others. He worked with constituents guiding them through the federal grant process helping them attain funds that brought rural broadband to underrepresented rural areas in the state. He supported the Congressman’s work on the House Small Business Committee where he worked on legislation that made instrumental impacts on Main Street America. He also handled the Congressman’s work the House Cartel Task Force, which focused on border security policy and illegal trafficking into the U.S.

Before working on Capitol Hill, Tanner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Missouri State University.
