Ohio Principal

Jon Cross

Former Ohio State Representative Jon Cross serves as Ohio Principal for Government Affairs, leading AxAdvocacy’s operations in the Buckeye State. Throughout his career, Cross has worked at the intersection of government, business, and economic development—as a legislator, chamber CEO, and advisor to job creators. He has earned a reputation for building trusted relationships and connecting policy, capital, and strategy to help clients navigate government, advance public policy, and create opportunities for investment and economic growth.

Prior to partnering with AxAdvocacy, Cross founded and serves as president of Cross Capital Consulting, a state and local government affairs and strategic advisory firm serving businesses, trade associations, investors, developers, energy companies, educational institutions, local governments, and nonprofit organizations. His work goes beyond traditional lobbying, helping clients navigate government, advance public policy priorities, build strategic relationships, and identify new opportunities for growth.

First elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2018, Cross served three terms and was elected by his colleagues to House leadership as Assistant Majority Floor Leader. During his legislative tenure, he became a leading voice on workforce development, higher education, economic development, infrastructure, and business competitiveness, advancing policies that helped position Ohio as CNBC’s No. 1 State for Business.

Before serving in the General Assembly, Cross was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance, where he led business attraction, workforce development, and regional economic development efforts. Earlier in his career, Cross worked for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Allen Group, Carly Fiorina’s U.S. Senate campaign, and The New Majority PAC, gaining experience in public policy, strategic communications, political campaigns, fundraising, and commercial real estate development.

Cross is a graduate of The Ohio State University, a loving husband to Christina, and a proud father to their two sons, Carson and Connor.
